Stocks rebounded after early losses as investors largely shrugged off new government data showing the U.S. economy shrank in the first three months of the year. The S&P 500 rose 8 points, or 0.2%, to close at 5,569 points, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 142 points or 0.4% to close at 40,669. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite shed 15 points, or 0.1%.
